Debra Jean Ervin Bowles

Mrs. Debra Jean Irvin Bowles, formerly of Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026 at the age of 70. The family will host a memorial celebration at a later date.

Mrs. Bowles was born March 20, 1955 in Deaton, OH a daughter of the late Dale “Papaw” and Betty “Mamaw” Seybold.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowles was preceded in death by her husband, David Len “Popop” Bowles. Debra was a proud retiree of Atrium Healthcare, where she dedicated her career to helping others. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos with her son, Jason, and was a decorated professional racquetball player. In her younger years, she found joy in working as a dance instructor. Debra took pride in her appearance, keeping her hair dyed and her nails done, and she loved thrift shopping, especially at Goodwill. She had a deep love for her horses, Misty and Baby, and was especially proud to have delivered Baby’s foal herself. A strong and resilient woman, Debra was also a breast cancer survivor who remained in remission for more than ten years. Above all, she cherished being a grandmother and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Scott (Stacey) Bedell of NC, Jason Bedell of FL, Stephanie (Scott) Morton of Greer, SC; grandchildren, Carlee Bedell, Jaysa (Garrett) Rivers, Jannessa (Chase) Oakley, Randi Lynn Morton, Adrian Morton, Peyton Morton; and great-grandchild, Everleigh Rivers.
