David Hayes

Greenville, SC Mr. David Lyn Hayes, age 60, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. The family will host a private memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Hayes was born July 21, 1956 in Cleveland, OH the son of the late Donald and Jessie Hopper Hayes. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and contractor in the cabinet making business. David was a talented craftsman who could build and create anything. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and was a proud father.

In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by a grandson, C.J. Gillespie; and 1 sister, Donna Nelson.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa (Thomas Rutan) Gillespie of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Antonio, Zaylen, Daysha, and T.J.; 3 sisters, Karen McLean of FL, Tracey Storey of GA, and Debbie Fuller of FL; brother-in-law, Terry Nelson; brothers of the heart, the Saikley brothers, Clifford Wilder, and Bob Lynch; also numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, 318 E. Main Street, Chesterfield, SC to help the family with funeral expenses.
