Mr. Dameon Alan Burgess, age 29, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026 at his home. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Morton officiating.

Born on February 6, 1997 in Cheraw, SC, He was the son of Paul James and Amanda Tipton. Throughout his life, Dameon brought joy to those around him with his quiet, yet friendly personality. He found enjoyment in watching WWE wrestling, always cheering on his favorite wrestlers. Gaming was another passion that brought Dameon pleasure. He will be remembered for his love of eating mac-n-cheese and for his favorite color, green.

Mr. Burgess is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Ernest and Cindy Lou Linton Stafford; brother Matt Burgess; and grandfather, Ricky Tipton.

Dameon is survived by his mother, Amanda (Coy) Tipton-Rivers of Chesterfield, SC; father, Paul James of Heath Springs, SC; brothers, Tyler (Macy) Burgess of Chesterfield, SC; CJ James of Cheraw, SC; sister, Abbi Wilson of Chesterfield, SC; uncle, Timothy Tipton of Chesterfield, SC three step-aunts, Joanna S. (Ken) Brock of Chesterfield, SC; Jennifer S. (Chris) Flowers of Florence, SC and Joni (Don) Marsh of Cheraw, SC; along with several great-aunts, uncles and cousins, including cousins, Shan Ziegler and Chance Ziegler. 

The family extends their appreciation to Mr. Henry Moore and his family, for being a mentor to Dameon and for their love and support. Additionally, the family extends their gratitude to Ms. Debbie Hunter at the Cheraw Parks & Recreation department.
