Cindi was born on October 11, 1961 to the late Rance M. Griffin and Peggy L. Griffin, in Monroe, NC. She was a graduating member of the class of 1979 of Buford High School. She began her working career as a cosmetologist. Cindi was a master seamstress and made beautiful clothes for her children and grandchildren, putting love into every stitch. She was a loyal prayer warrior and friend and was known for loving everybody. Her grandest titles were ‘Daddy’s Girl’, Mama and Maw Maw Cindi. She lovingly cared for her Daddy until his death in 2016. Four children and twelve grandchildren were her greatest treasures in life. As a child, when playing with dolls, she never wanted to play the Mama doll, her joy was in the Grandma Doll, where she always expressed a dream of having a dozen grandbabies.
As a Mama, she played a vital role in each of her children’s lives, as both parent and grandparent. She loved to travel, and the beach was amongst her favorite places to be. She had begun working on Ancestry and genealogy and building her family tree, and found much pleasure in that. Favorite pastimes included gardening and canning.
In addition to her parents, Cindi is preceded in death by a sister, Myra Lynn, and grandparents, Mr. John Oscar and Mrs. Paris Griffin and Mr. Ralph and Mrs. Nellie Laney.
Those left behind to mourn her loss include her husband, of the home, her children Alisia (Matt) Threatt, of Little River, SC, Candice (Josh) Johnson, of Pageland, SC, Lucas (Meredith) Hayes of Wingate, NC and Matthew (Amber) Hayes of Greer, SC. Grandchildren Dylan Threatt, Nate Threatt, Malachi Threatt, Kash Johnson, Potter Johnson, Paisley Hayes, Phoenix Hayes, Patton Hayes, Pierson Hayes, Pryor Hayes, Adilae Hayes, and Everleigh Hayes. Sister, Tammy (Steve) Barton, of Lancaster. Brothers, Rex (Emogene) Griffin and Rhett (Sandra) Griffin, both of the Tradesville Community. Numerous nephews and nieces. Aunts, Mrs. Roxie Griffin Williams and Mrs. Luna Anne Griffin Rollins of Pageland, and Mrs. Linda Wallace, of Charlotte, and a multitude of cousins. Two furbabies, Titus and Tess.
Those wishing to offer a memorial gift in Cindi's memory are encouraged to donate to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 3101 Industrial Drive, Suite 210, Raleigh, NC 27609.
