Pageland, SC
Clara Drew Funderburk, the precious infant princess of Andrew and Natalyn Funderburk, was lovingly received into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Though her time on earth was brief, the love for little Clara is immeasurable. She was a long-awaited daughter, a beautiful blessing from God, and a precious little girl whose life brought tremendous joy and hope to her family. Before her tiny hands could be held or her sweet voice could be heard, she had already captured the hearts of those who loved her. In the tender words of her mother, “My Sweet Angel, you were too good for this world.”
Clara leaves behind a lifetime of love and precious dreams in the hearts of her devoted parents, Andrew and Natalyn Funderburk. She is also lovingly remembered by her maternal grandmother, Crystal Nicholson of Pageland, SC; maternal grandfather, Ryan Nicholson of Pageland, SC; paternal grandparents, Tony and Pam Funderburk of Pageland, SC; aunts and uncles, David and Bethany Rorie, Hannah Nicholson, Patrick Nicholson, and Rhett Nicholson; along with a large extended family and many dear friends who eagerly awaited her arrival.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff of Novant Health Matthews Medical Center Women’s Center for the kindness, tenderness, and exceptional care shown to them during this difficult time.
Although we may never understand all that this life brings, we choose to trust in God's perfect wisdom and unfailing love. We find comfort in knowing that Clara was wonderfully made, deeply loved, and known by her Heavenly Father long before we ever knew her. While our hearts ache for the moments we will never share, we rest in the blessed assurance that the first face our precious little princess saw was the face of Jesus.
Clara never took a breath in this world, yet she will forever have a place in the hearts of those who loved her. Her tiny footprints may never mark the earth, but her beautiful life has left an everlasting imprint upon her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in loving memory of Clara Funderburk to Mountain Springs Baptist Church, 2509 Mountain Springs Church Road, Monroe, NC 28112.
“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”
Psalm 139:13–16
Forever loved, forever cherished, and forever safe in the arms of Jesus.
