Ms. Cheryl Brock Brigman, age 60, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 30, 2021. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Monday, August 2, 2021 from the Gymnasium of Wallace Elementary Middle School by Pastor Danny Chavis with burial to follow in the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at United Fellowship of God, 6056 Hwy. 52 South, Cheraw, SC.
Ms. Brigman was born February 20, 1961 in Cheraw, SC a daughter of the late William and Marguerite Roscoe Brock. She was a 1979 graduate of Wallace High School and received her Bachelor’s in Science Education from Francis Marion University. Furthering her education, Cheryl attained a Master’s in Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Master’s in Science Education from Lesley University.
Ms. Brigman taught seventh and eighth grade science and was employed with Wallace Elementary Middle School for over 31 years. She was a faithful member of United Fellowship of God where she served as Deaconess, Children’s church director, and Teen Sunday school teacher. Cheryl was a true blessing and a “Mom” to everyone! Her love was unconditional and her life touched each and every student she had the privilege to teach. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren. A true friend to all, one her favorite pastimes was “gallivanting” with her special friend and brother, Mark.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Brigman was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Billy and Donald Brock; and 1 infant grandchild, Baby Maynard.
Survivors include her son, Josh (Brandy) Brigman of Clio, SC; daughters, Barbie (Mack) Strong, and Jamie (Adam) Maynard both of Wallace, SC; and their father, J.J. Brigman of Oxford, NC; grandchildren, Anthony Strong, Andrian Strong, Cheyanna Strong, Liam Brigman, and Emma Brigman; brothers, Jimmy (Connie) Brock, and Jerry (Diane) Brock of Lexington, SC; sister, Jean Dickens of VA; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Pee Wee & Saundra Shaw of Wallace, SC; special friend and brother, Mark Smith; child of the heart, Kevin “Wes” Kennedy; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
