INTERMENT: to follow in the church cemetery

VISITATION: 4:00 - 6:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mr. Lowery was born March 31, 1944 in Anson County, NC a son of Josephine Lowery Ratliff and the late Willie Clayton Lowery. He was a 1962 graduate of Cheraw High School and was a retired employee of INA Bearing with 44 years of service. Mr. Lowery was a faithful member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Director, Chairman of Deacons, member of the church choir, and former treasurer. He was a member of the S.C. National Guard, and an Honorary Member of the Ruby - Mt. Croghan Fire Department with 20 years of service. Charles enjoyed cattle farming, and repairing antique engines. He was a friend and neighbor to everyone who knew him. In addition to his father, Charles was preceded in death by 1 brother, Larry Lowery, and 1 sister, Dorothy Lowery.

Mother: Josephine Lowery Ratliff of Morven, NC
3 Brothers: Donnie (Mildred) Lowery of Morven, NC, Lonnie (Juanita) Lowery of Norwood, NC, and David Lowery of Cheraw, SC
1 Sister: Mary (Devoide) Teal of Cheraw, SC
1 Grandson: Clint (Erica) Gulledge of Chesterfield, SC
Special Great Grandson: Levi Branson Gulledge of Chesterfield, SC
1 Brother-in-law: Bill (Susan) Tarlton of Ruby, SC
Also: 4 Step-Brothers, and 2 Step Sisters, and a host of Nieces, Nephews and friends
