Charles Gainey

Mr. Charles Gainey, age 77, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 8, 2017 at his home. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2017 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Steven Tarlton and Rev. Troy Watkins with burial to follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Gainey was born November 21, 1939 in Jefferson, SC a son of the late Jessie and Mattie Moree Gainey. He was a retired employee of Caro-Knit with over 40 years of service. A member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, Charles was a talented carpenter who enjoyed gardening and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Broome Gainey; daughter, Wendy Charline Gainey; brother, J.T. Gainey; and sister, Edna Belk.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Crawford, and Penny (Roy) Trotter both of Jefferson, SC; 5 grandchildren, Bobby (Alisha) Parker, Candice Parker, Caitlin Carnes, Dylan Carnes, and Erin Romane all of Jefferson, SC; 6 great-grandchildren, River, C.J., Cameron, Ciaria, Bobby, and Bryan; 1 great-great grandchild, Tacyla; brothers, Wylie (Bonnie) Gainey, and Joseph (Bernice) Gainey both of Jefferson, SC; beloved brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill (Joan) Broome, and Faye Broome both of Lancaster, SC, and Mary (Bobby) Faile of Jefferson, SC; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
