Mr. Charles Ervin Oliver, age 60, entered into rest on Monday, April 20, 2026 at his home. The Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 5:00 PM in the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with the Honorable Rep. Pastor Richie Yow and Brent Taylor officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service, and other times at the home of Mrs. Donna Rivers (1730 Hwy. 742, Chesterfield). Following the service, Mr. Oliver will be buried at the Pleasant Acres Cemetery.
Ervin was born on November 18, 1965 in Cheraw, SC. He was a son of the late Aaron Charles Oliver and Birty Lee Smith Oliver. Mr. Oliver was a lifelong member of Hopewell Baptist Church. As a proud Navy veteran, Ervin served his country with honor during Operation Desert Storm as part of the 133rd Alpha Company Seabee battalion. He found joy in hunting and camping. Music was another passion, and he delighted in playing the guitar. Ervin also had a unique hobby of flying remote control airplanes, helicopters, and boats. Riding his motorcycle held a special place in his heart. A devoted fan of the Carolina Panthers, he was always ready to cheer on his favorite team.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his twin brother, Charles Everett Oliver and his wife, Robin Oliver; all of his maternal and paternal grandparents; and brothers-in-law, Larry Ray Crawley and Louis Rivers.
Survivors include his sisters, Deborah Crawley (Debbie), Margaret Rivers, Donna Rivers (of the home) all of Chesterfield, SC; uncle, Larry (Jeanie) Oliver of Chesterfield, SC, significant other, Dana Hatcher of Patrick, SC; in addition to a longtime friend, and a granddaughter of the heart and her children and also numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Mcleod Health Cheraw-ICU and to Mcleod Health Florence-Critical Care for their care and support of Mr. Oliver.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chesterfield County Council on Aging (206 Zoar Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709), or to Hopewell Baptist Church Youth Group fund (Hopewell Baptist Church, P.O. Box 66, Chesterfield, SC 29709) or to a charity of one’s choice.
