Cathy "Gee Gee" Norris Leviner

Cathy Norris Leviner (lovingly called “GeeGee” by her grandchildren), 70, of Cheraw, South Carolina, entered into rest on February 6, 2026, following a hardfought battle with cancer. Born on January 7, 1956, in Dillon, South Carolina, Cathy was the daughter of the late Leo Edward “Gabby” Norris and Mary Lillian “Nanny” Baxley Norris. A lifelong member of the Church of God and a licensed Lay Minister, she found a true calling ministering to the elderly with her late husband and soulmate, Randy Leviner, in assisted living facilities across Chesterfield and Marlboro Counties, blessing congregations with her contralto voice, and teaching Sunday school classes. Raised in the small community of Wallace, South Carolina, she truly loved riding the country roads—affectionately dubbed “The Horn” by her beloved father—surrounding the Great Pee Dee River. For Cathy, there was nary a problem presented by life that could not find resolution through faithful prayer and “Horn” driving.

An assistant teacher in Bennettsville until her first battle with kidney cancer, she always held the children of Marlboro County Schools in her heart. Cathy was a voracious reader, instilling this passion for the written word in her children and grandchildren, and she loved embroidery and word games to keep her mind and hands equally nimble. She found solace and peace in nature, and she adored annual trips to the beach with her close friends, in addition to watching the spectacular display of autumn leaves throughout the Appalachian Mountains. Her family finds comfort in the thousands of photographs and videos she carefully curated to document the mundane and milestone moments of life alike. Cathy’s commentary will be sorely missed on game days of her favorite football teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.

She is survived by her children, Bishop Kevin (Kathy Ann) Rummage of Cheraw, S.C., and Jill Rummage of Cheraw, S.C.; her stepdaughter, Renee (Tony) Leviner Van-Derpoel of Luttrell, T.N.; her stepson, Lance Leviner; her brother, William L. “Billy” (Gail) Norris of Wallace, S.C.; her sister, Teresa (Gene) Norris Darby of Timmonsville, S.C.; her sister-in-law, Ann Norris; her beloved grandchildren, Mikaila Rummage, Madison Rummage, Micah Rummage, Ethan Van-Derpoel, and Nicholas Van-Derpoel; and her best friend and “sister-of-the-heart,” Gayle Rosser. Cathy loved spending time with countless family members who filled her life and heart and is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.

She rejoices in death to find eternal reunion with her late husband, Randolph “Randy” Leviner; her father and mother, Leo and Mary Norris; her brother, Jimmy Norris; her maternal grandparents, Herbert Baxley and Ella Whittington Baxley; her paternal grandparents, Roland Thomas Norris and Nellie Rowell Norris; her stepdaughter, Carol Lynne Leviner; and her best friend and “sister-of-the-heart,” Sarah Cousins Driggers.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Greenlawn Cemetery of Dillon, SC, officiated by her son, Bishop Kevin Rummage. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
