DECEASED: Mr. Carroll J. Ingram, age 80, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2007 in Jacksonville, Florida after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 17, 2007 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, McFarlan, N.C.
INTERMENT: Pleasant Hill Cemetery
VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC

HISTORY: Mr. Ingram was born December 19, 1926 in Bluett Falls, NC, and was raised in Lilesville, N.C. He was a son of the late Furman and Etta Crawley Ingram, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Bernard Ingram and by a sister, Christine Ingram. He was a 1943 graduate of Lilesville High School. Carroll worked for Seaboard Airline Railroad until joining the U.S. Navy, serving in the Signal Corps form 1944 to 1946. Among his Navy stations was Shanghai, China. After his service with the Navy, Carroll returned to Seaboard Airline Railroad in Hamlet, N.C. He married the former Helen Teal in 1951, and they began raising a family together in Wadesboro, N.C. His career with the railroad relocated Carroll and his family to Jacksonville, Florida in 1967. The passion for trains and the rails always ran deep for Carroll. After 45 years in the railroad business, Carroll retired from CSX. Carroll was a longtime, devoted member of Southside Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. He had been very active with his Sunday school class and had served as a Deacon in the Church. Carroll's greatest love was always his family, and they will always cherish his memory.

Wife of 56 years Helen Teal Ingram of the home
Daughter: Gail Ingram Kozikowski and husband Ray of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl.
Son: C.J. Ingram, Jr. and wife Phyllis of Woodbridge, Va.
Grandchildren: Raymond Kozikowski, Kyle and J.T. Ingram, and Teal Kozikowski
Sisters: Ruth Roberson of Lilesville, N.C. and Violet Preston of San Antonio, TX.
Brother: Harold Dean Ingram of Clarkton, N.C.

MEMORIALS: May be to Mayo Clinic Parkinson's Research or Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
