Carol Frantz Leaird

Jefferson, SC

          Mrs. Carol Frantz Leaird, age 71, entered in to rest on April 26th surrounded by her loving family.  A celebration of Life graveside service will be held Saturday April 29th at 10 am in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, 3870 Johnson Road, Jefferson, SC officiated by Rev. David Sanders.  The family will greet friends after the service in the Macedonia Baptist Church Multi-Ministry Building.

Mrs. Leaird was born January 23, 1952 in Norristown PA.  to the late Howard Frantz and Verdell Johnson Lynch.  After graduating high school, Carol moved to South Carolina and embraced southern life to its fullest.  She was a homemaker and a hard-working farmer’s wife.  She spent many hours driving a tractor, working in turkey houses and working cattle alongside her husband and son on their family farm.  Carol was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and loved her Ladies Sunday School Class dearly. 

Survivors include her husband of 48 years Gary Leaird of the home; daughter Becky (Grant) Caulder – Chesterfield, SC; son Justin (Jane) Leaird- Jefferson, SC;  brother-in-law Herb (Nancy) Leaird, Sumter, SC.  and grandchildren Suzanne Jordan, Johnston Leaird and Ellie Leaird. 

          The family would like to express their heart filled appreciation to Mrs. Leaird’s caretaker, Bessie Harvett, and to Crescent Hospice for their exceptional care of Mrs. Carol.
