Carol Ann Curtis

Chesterfield, SC

Mrs. Carol Ann Curtis, age 62, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at her home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Chesterfield Cemetery officiated by Pastor Randy Bishop and Brent Taylor. The family will welcome friends at their home following the service.

Born on December 11, 1963, at The Perry Clinic in Chesterfield, SC, Carol Ann was the beloved daughter of Jean Gibson Rhynes and was raised by her precious grandmother, Bertha. She graduated in 1982 from Chesterfield High School and was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church. She was known for her passion for decorating, meticulously preparing her home and front yard for every holiday. Known for keeping her home immaculate, one of her favorite pastimes was mowing grass. She was known to mow every other day and that riding lawn mower would cut everything in her path. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she deeply cared for each of her fur-babies.

Carol Ann's heart swelled with pride for her four daughters, whose lives she supported unwaveringly, even earning the endearing nickname “Carl” from Natalie. One of her greatest tools as a mom was tracking their every move on the cellphone app. As “My-Ma,” her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, binding them with love and laughter.

In addition to being reunited in heaven with her mother and grandmother, Carol Ann was preceded in death by her beloved fur-babies, “Cloie” and “Nunie”. They along with her beloved uncle Bate Gibson now rest with her perpetually where love endures forever.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Douglas Curtis; her daughters, Kirkley (Andrea) Curtis Banks, Natalie (Liz) Jean Curtis, Linsey (Bobby) Ann McCarthy, Taylor (Courtland) Lee Curtis; and cherished grandchildren Briley Watson, Benton Roebuck, Reed Watson, Remington McCarthy, Charleston McCarthy, Addison Cook, Hadleigh Cook, Austin Banks, and Alyvia Banks. Her best friend and sister of the heart for 50 years, Sherry Parnell (Alvin), a host of extended family; and her fur-baby (aka her favorite daughter) “Lu-Lu.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesterfield Animal Shelter, 436 Goodale Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
