Mr. Carey Andrew Shaw entered into rest on Friday evening, April 25, 2025 at the age of 67. The family will host a cook-out gathering on Sunday, April 27, 2025 beginning at 3:00 PM at the old homeplace (Leroy’s home, Shaw Lane, Chesterfield, SC). They invite Mr. Shaw’s extended family and friends to stop by and celebrate his life with them. The family will also receive visitors on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

Born on August 17, 1957, in Chesterfield, SC, Mr. Shaw was the son of the late James and Ella Shaw. He was an electrician by trade and was excellent with his work. Whether he was fishing or simply taking a walk, Carey took pleasure in being with nature and had a special place in his heart for animals. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and listening to country music. Mr. Shaw loved his family and also would spend time journaling his thoughts. He had a knack for finding good food and snacks, especially candy and most of all, chocolate.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Shaw.

He is survived by his children, Kelly (Jared) Campbell of VA; son, Christopher Shaw of NC; grandchildren, Kayla Gregory, Grace Morgan, Ben Shaw, Easton Shaw, great-grandchildren, Wyatt Deaton and Hunter Deaton, Emma Kate Maddox, Ava Canipe; siblings, Nancy (Donald) Hutchinson of Wallace, SC; Laura Hunter of Cheraw, SC; Trudy (Eric) Gainey; Leroy Shaw and Mark Shaw, both of Chesterfield, SC; and also his ex-wife, Nancy Shaw of Chesterfield, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
