Candy Winstead Gooden

Mrs. Candy Winstead Gooden, age 55, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, August 7, 2021 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Bro. Tommy Bailey and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gooden was born October 21, 1965 in Burlington, NC a daughter of the late Millard Eugene “Gene” and Sylvia Deese Winstead. She was an employee of Bo-Buck Mills and a former employee of JoAnn Fabrics. She was very talented with crafts and had an amazing eye for decorating. Candy loved hosting get-togethers for her family and spending time with all her children and granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gooden was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Tami F. Winstead.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 20 years, Jammy Gooden of the home; children, Logan F. (Chase Ingram) Gooden, and Chad R. Butler both of Patrick, SC; granddaughter, Skylar R. Hilliard; brothers, Jeff (Mae) Winstead of Cheraw, SC, and Tim (Emily) Winstead of Cheraw, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, “Dierks.”
