DATELINE: Chesterfield, SC
DECEASED: Mr. Boyce Daniel "Phil" Phillips, Jr., age 72, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 18, 2010.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 4:00 PM, Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Cheraw Family Worship Center.
INTERMENT: will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, McFarlan, NC
VISITATION: 3:00 - 4:00 PM Thursday, prior to the service at Cheraw Family Worship Fellowship Hall
HISTORY: Mr. Phillips was born January 4, 1938 in Norfolk, VA, a son of the late Cdr. Boyce Daniel Phillips USN (Retired) and Louise Elizabeth Bland Phillips. He was a High School graduate and attended the University of Tennessee. Mr. Phillips was a retired Job Coach with Chesco Services. Phil was a faithful member of Cheraw Family Worship Center, where he was a former mandolin player with the Praise Team. He was the oldest original member of the Disaster Relief
USA Mobile Kitchen and was a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Team. Phil had a servant's heart and was affectionately known as the "Candy Man".

6 Grandchildren: Krista (Denny) Balchin, Christian Priest, Kyle Rivers, Ethan Priest, Logan Priest, and Nathan Priest
3 Great Grandchildren: Eason, Madyson, and Landen Balchin
2 Aunts: Katharine Baland of Chesapeake, VA and Jessie Bland Nuzzo of Norfolk, VA
