Mr. Billy Ray "Shagg" Taylor, age 68, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at his home. A graveside service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 23, 2025 in the Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends in the cemetery following the service.

Mr. Taylor was born July 12, 1957 in Monroe, NC. He was lovingly raised by his grandmother; the late Essie Taylor. Billy had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, with hunting being one of his greatest passions—especially rabbit hunting. A true animal lover, he took great joy in raising his Buckshot Jones beagles, and he also found happiness in caring for his chickens.

Survivors include his daughter, Tanya (Jamie Moody) Taylor of Cairo, GA and grandson, Justin Taylor; brother, Kenneth Taylor of Mt. Croghan, SC; sister, Melanie Short of Ruby, SC; uncles, Billy Joe (Vivian) Taylor of Mr. Croghan, SC, Roger (Mary) Taylor of Mt. Croghan, SC, Bobby Horne of Mt. Croghan, SC; aunts, Linda Horne of Pageland, SC, Margaret Sellers of Mt. Croghan, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
