Pageland, SC - Mrs. Betty H. Sherrin, age 92, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at Atrium Health - Monroe. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Mack Mullis and Brent Taylor, with interment to follow at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Born on February 7, 1933, in Pageland, SC, Mrs. Sherrin was the daughter of Joe Marshall Horne and Leslie Moree Horne. Throughout her life, she was devoted to her family and community, working in textile mills and most importantly serving as a dedicated homemaker. Known lovingly as “Maw-Maw Betty,” she was renowned for her outgoing personality and her talent for baking cakes and pies, always making sure that no one left her home hungry. A faithful Christian lady, Betty enjoyed attending Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was known as a devoted prayer warrior.
Mrs. Sherrin was preceded in death by her husband, Baxter Sherrin; her daughter, Susan S. Bodenheimer; and all her siblings, including Atha H. Johnson, Lola H. Watts Long, Ruth Horne, Esther H. Hyatt, Maggie H. Sutton, and Gene Horne.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet S. (David) Bennett of Pageland, SC; grandchildren, Amber (Terry) Champagne, Travis (Jenna) Johnson, both of Pageland, SC, Dusty Bodenheimer of Liberty Hill, SC, Lance (Sarah) Bennett of Pageland, SC; great-grandchildren, Madison Champagne, Karsyn Champagne, Ava Johnson, Hampton Johnson, and the soon-to-arrive Maeve Bennett, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to long-time friend and caregiver, Carol Hendrix, for her love and support to Mrs. Betty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Hill Baptist Church “Mission Friends,” P.O. Box 309, Pageland, SC 29728.
