DECEASED: Mr. Barney Gilbert McLain age 81, died Thursday, January 12, 2012.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, Chesterfield, SC
INTERMENT: will follow in the St. John Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, with Military Honors.
VISITATION: 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 13, 2011 at the Funeral Home
HISTORY: Mr. McLain was born October 2, 1930, in Patrick, SC, a son of the late Drew Oscar and Rosa Lee Boan McLain. He was a retired Timber Dealer and was a Funeral Assistant with the Miller-Rivers Funeral Home and the Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home for over 30 years. Mr. McLain was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion Post 74. He was a member of the Chesterfield Masonic Lodge # 220, and was a board member with the Chesterfield County Council on Aging, where he had served for over 20 years. Gilbert was a faithful member of Chesterfield Baptist Church for over 61 years, where he served as Deacon for many years, was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, and served in various other offices in the Church. He was an avid fisherman and a friend to all. In addition to his parents, Gilbert was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Bruce Rogers.

Uncle: Harold P. (Helen) McLain of Patrick, SC
2 Aunts: Ola E. McLain of Patrick, SC and Nealie Polson McLain of Chesterfield, SC
