Mrs. Barbara J. Wallace, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, March 29, 2026 at her home. The funeral service to celebrate her life and legacy will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 4:00 PM at the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Wallace, Brent Taylor, and Pastor Hank Griffin officiating, with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the funeral home between the hours of 6:00-8:00 PM.
Mrs. Wallace was born on January 3, 1946 in Marlboro County, SC. She was a daughter of the late Elmore and Annie Caulder Johnson. A woman of deep faith, Barbara loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, having served in various positions, which included leading the choir and working with the youth. Mrs. Wallace took pride in her roles of Vacation Bible School leader and Sunday School teacher of the youth class, in addition to serving as a member of the church Benevolence Committee, through which she tenderly aided others in their time of need. Barbara married Jack Wallace on October 21, 1972, and together they built a life rich in love. She worked as a secretary with Sacony and INA for many years, but in time found her most favorite calling as a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her brothers, Boyd K. Johnson, Edward G. Johnson, James O. Johnson, Jennings D. Johnson; sisters, Myrtle J. Speight and Geneva Johnson.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Jack Wallace of the home; daughter, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Kevin) Rivers of Cheraw, SC; step-daughter, Gwendolyn Renee Wallace (Diane) of Indian Trail, NC; step-son, Timothy (Kelly) Wallace of Macclenny, FL; adoring granddaughters, whom she helped to raise and that were heart and soul, Zoey and Izzy Rivers; step-grandchildren, Zachary and Kayla Wallace, Gavin Rivers, Kennleigh Leviner (Kaleb); 2 great step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Virginia “Pug” (Bud) Quick of Wallace, SC; niece, Belinda Driggers of Cheraw, SC.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Agape Hospice, and especially April Rayfield, Felicia Strong and Jinny Tucker. On behalf of the family, you are the best and have shown so much love and care for Mrs. Wallace during her time of illness.
