Mr. Arte Jacobs, age 89 entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Reverend Jonathan Lyons with burial to follow in the Driggers Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. We also ask all guests and family members attending visitations and services to please continue social distancing and if desired to bring and wear a mask. The family respectfully request NO VISITORS at the home during this time.
Mr. Jacobs was born December 5, 1932 in Wallace, SC a son of the late Charlie Preston and Inez Driggers Jacobs. He was a retired employee of Burlington Industries – Cordova with over 42 ½ years of service and a member of Cheraw Church of God. Arte was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. His hobbies included fishing, watching wrestling, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jacobs was also preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Quick, Ethelrine English, Frances Hinson, and Margaret Pierce; 2 grandchildren, Chucky Harward, and Ricky T. Jacobs; and great great grandchild, Emily Harward.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 71 years, Betty Sue Jacobs of the home; sons, Richard Terry (Jeanette) Jacobs, and William Christopher (Angel) Jacobs both of Wallace, SC; daughters, Carolyn (Charles) Harward of Wadesboro, NC, Deborah Pagan, and Elaine Sylvia both of Wallace, SC; grandchildren, Phillip Harward, Christy (Dac) Brown, Travis (Stacy) Garris, Tracy (James) Markham, Wendy (Steve) Ziegler, Tom Sylvia, Jamie (Katrina) Anderson, Brandon (Ashley) Jacobs, Stephanie Jacobs, CC Jacobs, and Will (Savannah) Jacobs; 28 great-grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jenny Lyons of Winston Salem, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of Crescent Hospice for the love and care shown to Mr. Jacobs and their family.
