Amy Wood Stokes

Mrs. Amy Wood Stokes, age 57, entered into rest on Thursday, April 9, 2026. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Old Peniel Cemetery by Rev. Donald Wallace. The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery.

Mrs. Stokes was born on March 18, 1969 in Chesterfield, SC the daughter of Brenda Johnson Wood and the late Gerald Wood. Amy had a truly nurturing spirit and found great joy in caring for those she loved; especially her parents. She took pride in preparing meals for her family, expressing her love through her cooking. Amy also had a special place in her heart for animals, and she cherished her Chihuahuas and cats dearly.

In addition to her father, Amy was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen Tyner.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Bryant; son, Drew Stokes of Rockingham, NC; mother, Brenda J. Wood of Chesterfield, SC; siblings, Susie Trexler of Chesterfield, SC, Jeff (Toni) Wood if Cheraw, SC; brothers-in-law, Wayne Bryant of Chesterfield, SC, Mike (Patsy) Bryant of Society Hill, SC, Tom (Brenda) Bryant of Wallace, SC, Tony Bryant of Wallace, SC; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Henry) Griggs of Cheraw, SC; nephews, Adam Johnson, Josh (Mandi) and their family, Stephen Bryant; niece, Lisa Linton; and great-nephew, Zane Johnson.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to her caretakers, doctors, and nurses at Gentiva Hospice; as well as her special caretaker, Kathleen Hooper.
