On October 30, 1970 God gave a special gift to Rev. Jimmy “Pete” and Dianne “Anne” Steen Gregory by the name of Amanda Leigh Gregory. She was truly the light of her family and a blessing to them. Amanda loved to color and decorate velvet art and create keepsakes with latch hooking. She enjoyed watching cartoons and her favorite was Scooby Doo. She also enjoyed watching movies and any with Steven Seagal, Chuck Norris, or Jim Carey were her favorite picks. To say she was an Elvis Pressley fan is quite the understatement!
A young lady with a selfless and giving heart, Amanda was always wanting to buy for others. She would never miss sending a card for anyone’s birthday, anniversary, or special date. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she looked forward to adding to her Belkie Bear collection each year. The greatest experience of her life was when she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized in 1983.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her parents, Rev. Jimmy “Pete” and Anne Gregory of Jefferson, SC; sister, Katrina (Michael) Manus of Monroe, NC; brother, Jimmy (Tracy) Gregory of Jefferson, SC; nieces and nephews, Joseph Ryne Manus, Ashleigh Lauren (Shea) Rollins, Tristan Andrew Gregory, Alston Blayne Gregory, and Aiden Skyler Gregory; great nieces, Hayden Leigh Rollins, and Lainey Scott Rollins; 1 great nephew to soon be arriving; caregiver and special friend, Renee Wilson; and special “aunt,” Donna (Larry) Fulton.
Memorials may be made to the McWhorter Hospice House, 700 W Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, SC Gift Processing,
4600 Park Rd, Ste 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14
