Mr. Allyn Ray Kerley, age 87, passed away late in the night on June 19, 2026 at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.
The family will host a celebration of life gathering at the home (18333 Hwy. 1-Hartsville, SC) on Saturday, June 27, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM, with military honors being rendered at 12:00 PM.
Mr. Kerley was born on February 21, 1939 in Charlotte, NC. He was a son of the late Charles Ray Kerley and Idell Davis Kerley. After being in the first graduating class of North Mecklenburg High School in 1957, Allyn went on to further his education in the United States Navy; honorably serving his country as an Aviation Electronics Technician. He was a past member of the local Masonic lodge in Derita, NC. Allyn enjoyed working and will be remembered for his selflessness in providing for his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kerley was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Katherine Bailey Kerley.
Survivors include his children, Darryl (Deborah) Kerley of Hartsville, SC; Charlene (Douglas) Byrd of Roseboro, NC; Deanna (Stephen) Sobota of Gastonia, NC; Bobby (Sharon Childers) Dean of Arizona; Dale (Petri) Childers of Mckinney, TX; grandchildren, Jesse (Megan) Kerley, Christian (Hannah) Collazo, Elana Collazo, Beth Childers, Bobby Childers, Christy May Owens, David Matthew Childers, Sarah Childers, Makayla Childers, Rebecca Childers, Ricky Deese, Jr., Nicholas Sobota; great-grandchildren, Maicol Collazo, Izek Collazo, Jaxxon Collazo, Isabella Collazo, Nathan Collazo, Colt Collazo, Myles Kerley, Anna Cummings, Kayleigh Baskins, Ricky Deese, III; siblings, Linda Oxman and Karen Ganley; special friend, Robert Swing of Hartsville, SC; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Gratitude is expressed to Mr. Kerley’s daughter-in-law, Deborah Kerley, who lovingly cared for him every step of the way.
