Mr. Marvin H. “Pop” Aycock, age 85, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his home. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Don Rhyne with burial to follow in the Chesterfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Aycock was born March 2, 1934 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Arthur William and Minnie Florence Polson Aycock. He was a former employee of Cheraw Yarn Mills with over 30 years of service and the retired owner and operator of Aycock Building and Repair. He enjoyed spending time on the farm raising goats and donkeys.
In addition to his parents, Pop was also preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Johnson; and brother, Marion Aycock.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Barbara D. Aycock of the home; children, Gene (Paula) Aycock, Billy Aycock, and Barbara (Billy) Sellers all of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer (Elliot) Moss of Asheville, NC, Adrian (Debbie) Aycock of San Antonio, TX, Sydney Aycock of Pageland, SC, and Madison Aycock of Chesterfield, SC; great grandchildren, Natalie Horton and Audrina Aycock; sisters, Mary Cox of Society Hill, SC, and Florence Sturkie of Florence, SC; brother, Eugene Aycock of Patrick, SC; sister-in-law, Fannie Jean Futrell of Chesterfield, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.
