Mrs. Helen Margaret “Peachie” Campbell Bailey, age 93, formerly of Ruby, SC, entered into rest on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, January 27, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Dr. Seth Bible and Danny Shumate with burial to follow in the Ruby Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bailey was born November 10, 1925 in Ruby, SC a daughter of the late Vann and Annie Campbell. She was a former employee of Sacony Industries and a life-long seamstress. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Life Community Church in Greensboro, NC. A lady with a big heart, Peachie was always serving her community by delivering surplus items to the local fire departments, homeless shelters, and teen centers.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bailey was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Ed” Bailey; and siblings, Arie Campbell, Annie Hancock, Nettie Dennis, Furman Campbell, Sarah Griggs, James Campbell, and Calvin “Shorty” Campbell.
Survivors include her children, Sylvia Rushing of Ruby, SC, Linda (Junior) Simmons, June (Danny) Shumate, and Edie Bailey all of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Tommy Rushing, Jean Lynn (Jason) Watson, Rich (Ami) Simmons, Brad (Michelle) Shumate, and Kristy (Dr. Seth) Bible; great- grandchildren, David Rushing, John Rushing, Tiffany Watson, Bryan Watson, Zach Simmons, Hannah Simmons, Sophie Shumate, Ava Shumate, Chloe Bible, Tate Bible, Laney Bible, and Chase Bible.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
